What happens to your UBIT services when you graduate

Use this handy checklist to make sure you are ready for your next steps.

Your technology checklist for graduating from UB

Update your UBITName password recovery information

Don't get locked out of your UB account. Make sure you recovery information is up-to-date.

Transition from your UBmail

You will lose access to your UB email six months after your degree conferral date. Before then:

  • Save or transfer your contacts to a non-UB email address
  • Save or transfer any email messages you want to keep to a non-UB email address
  • Save any Calendar Events
  • We recommend you set up an Out of Office reply to notify people who contact you that you will be changing your email
  • Log into or contact any websites that use your @buffalo.edu email address and change your email to your non-UB email address
  • Update any apps that used your @buffalo.edu email as your recovery email address to use a non-UB email address
Get transcripts

Your UB transcripts and more are available to you.

Backup your UBbox and OneDrive files

You will lose access to your UBbox and OneDrive cloud storage six months after your degree conferral date.

To save your work from UB, you’ll need to download your files from UBbox and OneDrive and move them to personal storage.   

Optional: Use a personal email to re-subscribe to Microsoft 365, Zoom or Box

Continue using the services you want with a non-UB email address. Unfortunately, you’ll have to transfer files and settings manually.
