Minor in Communication

A minor in Communication is a great complement to any major, helping students improve interpersonal skills, media literacy and critical thinking—valuable in any career path.
To complete the minor, students must take 6 courses (18 credit hours) and meet the following criteria:
Core Courses (6 credits)
- Principles of Communication
- One additional 200-level COM course (minimum grade of C)
Advanced Courses (12 credits)
- Four 300- or 400-level COM courses (3 credits each)
GPA Requirements
- 2.0 GPA averaged across the two lower-level courses
- 2.5 overall GPA in all minor coursework
- A maximum of two transfer courses (3 credits each) may be applied.
- No more than two pass-fail courses may count toward the minor.
- Students must declare the minor no later than the beginning of their senior year.
