At the conclusion of each academic year, Veteran Services hosts a special honor cord celebration, open to all, recognizing veteran and military-connected graduates who have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate/professional degree from the University at Buffalo. 

About this Event

This celebration provides veteran and military-connected graduates with red, white and blue honor cords to recognize their service. These cords can then be worn with their cap and gown at Commencement. The celebration will be held on Thursday, May 1 at 3:00 p.m. in the Buffalo Room.  A reception will follow. RSVP is encouraged.

The following groups will be eligible for the honor cords:

  • Veterans of the US Armed Forces
  • Members of the National Guard
  • Members of the Reserves
  • Newly commissioned ROTC Cadets and Officers
