Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program

The Fulbright supports internationalization of campuses and units/departments at U.S. institutions of higher education by allowing institution-applicants to apply to host a scholar from abroad for an academic year or semester.
About
The Scholar-in-Residence Program offers scholars a pathway to connecting with international collaborators that can foster one's own trip abroad with Fulbright for the first time or for an additional Fulbright Scholar Award. A high-quality connection with a host institution abroad strengthens the Fulbright Scholar application. Therefore, having a semester or year with a colleague from abroad is one of the strongest connections one could have.
The application to host a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence is open and closes on June 2, 2025.

Join Fulbright for the final interactive webinar to answer inquiries about the Fulbright Scholar-In-Residence program prior to the application deadline of June 2, 2025, 5pm ET/EST. The presentation will discuss tips for a successful application and answer questions from webinar attendees.

UB continues institutional membership with NCFDD

Dear Colleagues,
We are writing to inform you about UB’s continued institutional membership with the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD). The NCFDD is a nationally recognized, independent organization that provides online career development and mentoring resources for faculty, post-docs, and graduate students. For more information, see UB’s NCFDD webpage.
The NCFDD provides a variety of virtual programs and resources including:
- Weekly Monday Motivator
- Monthly Core Curriculum Webinars
- Monthly Guest Expert Webinars
- Access to Multi-Week Courses
- Access to Dissertation Success Curriculum for graduate students
- Private Discussion Forum for peer-mentoring, problem-solving, & moderated writing challenges
- Monthly accountability buddy matches
- Access to 14-Day Writing Challenges
- Access to the Member Library that includes past webinar materials, referrals, and readings.
To claim your free Institutional Membership, complete the following steps:
- Go to
- Choose University at Buffalo from the drop-down menu.
- Select “Activate my Membership”.
- Complete the registration form using your institutional email address (@buffalo.edu).
- Go to your UB email to find a confirmation/welcome email. Click “Activate Account” in the email.
