This asynchronous course presents an overview of the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) approach to calculate risk and proactively avoid potential failures in a process or service. Participants learn about its methodical approach, how to assemble a team and FMEA tools.

The course features access to online lectures, conversations about FMEA, and perspectives from industry professionals in addition to a physical coursebook for you to keep.  Online quizzes and a final exercise help assess your knowledge.

Course Schedule

This course is offered online on a rolling monthly start basis.

Start at the beginning of any month as long as you paid and enrolled by the 15th day of the preceding month.

Materials and course access will be sent by the first Monday of the next month, if payment is received on time.

Instructor Bio: Peter Baumgartner, CLSSMBB

Peter Baumgartner, a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, is UB TCIE’s Operational Excellence Director. As a resident expert in Lean Six Sigma, he has delivered substantial, validated hard savings across a variety of projects in such industries as manufacturing, medical devices, building materials, publishing, finance, IT, food service and automotive. He has nearly 10 years of experience with a global company in serving as the lead on a multitude of process improvement project teams that have delivered record performance in yields, cost reduction, quality and safety. Baumgartner has an advanced understanding and application of statistics, and develops the potential in others through helping them understand Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
