Good afternoon, and welcome!
Thank you for joining us to celebrate the grand opening of UB’s Brittany Murchie Mulla Sports Performance Center!
I would like to begin by welcoming and acknowledging our center’s name-sake—Brittany Murchie Mulla—along with all the members of the Murchie family. Many thanks to Tunney, Brittany and the Murchie family for your loyal support of UB Athletics and our university community.
I would also like to acknowledge the members of the UB Council and the members of the UB Foundation. I appreciate everything you do on behalf of the University at Buffalo.
This is a great day for UB Athletics, and our university community. The Brittany Murchie Mulla Sports Performance Center represents a significant enhancement to our university’s athletics facilities—and, therefore, the overall experience of our student-athletes.
You just saw how our student-athletes are reacting to the sports performance center. Their excitement is palpable!
As they take full advantage of everything this stunning space has to offer, it is elevating their performance in their respective sport.
In this way, The Brittany Murchie Mulla Sports Performance Center is emblematic of UB’s commitment to student success. Whether on the court, in the classroom, or in the clinic, we are creating an environment that encourages our students to reach their full potential and inspires them to fulfill their dreams.
I’m speaking about facilities, such as this, that are second to none. But I’m also speaking about those who shepherd our students to the next tier of excellence: the faculty who mentor them, the counselors who guide them, the coaches and support staff who train and motivate them and, of course, the dedicated alumni and university friends who give back to our students in profoundly meaningful ways.
On behalf of a grateful university, allow me to again acknowledge Tunney Murchie, Brittany Murchie Mulla, and the entire Murchie family for making our sports performance center a reality. We sincerely appreciate your longstanding devotion to our UB Division of Athletics, and our university community.
