Charles Ewing, UB professor of law who specializes in forensic psychology and violent behavior, was interviewed for a story in USA Today about two killers who escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility in northern New York State and how they obtained the power tools needed to cut a path to freedom. “Employees cannot smuggle the equipment these guys needed,” he said. “Employees themselves are screened going in and out. It’s not like sticking it in a birthday cake.” Ewing also was interviewed for articles that appeared on BuzzFeed News, Politics on the Hudson, Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and WXAI-TV in Atlanta.
