As a public school in the SUNY system, the University at Buffalo has a worldwide reputation for excellence, but costs much less than private schools. Cost of attendance at UB varies depending on a number of factors and tuition is subject to change.
Estimated Domestic Student Costs

- Online tuition/fee rates are exclusive to online academic programs that have been previously approved by the Provost's Office and registered by the New York State Education Department. If you are not enrolled in one of the approved online academic programs, you are not eligible for a Comprehensive Fee Waiver.

- Fees include the student activity fee, comprehensive fees, the international student fee and international student health insurance.
- Living Expenses are based on average on-campus residence hall costs; this cost will vary slightly depending on room occupancy and dormitory.
- Books and personal school supplies are not included. Students should budget $1,000–$1,500 per semester. Some programs, such as architecture, art programs and health-related programs may have significantly higher costs for supplies.
- Personal and incidental costs are not included. Students should budget at least $1,000 per semester.
