Lives were lost and impacted during the racially motivated mass shooting at Tops Friendly Markets supermarket in Buffalo’s East Side neighborhood on May 14, 2022. Explore the process of the 5/14 Memorial design, highlighting the transformative power of architecture—its unique ability to elevate awareness, mobilize communities, and inspire meaningful action.

By working collaboratively with families, community members, and the 5/14 Memorial Commission, the project, called 'Seeing Us', seeks to produce an agency for social justice, healing, and remembrance, not only for our time but also for audiences nationwide and future generations. ‘Seeing Us’ is the proposal to commemorate the lives both lost and impacted. The architecture provides a site for healing and hope to the community.

This webinar is being held on TUESDAY, May 13, 2025.
