She has worked with a variety of partners from both urban and rural communities. For over 11 years, she has worked with the Patient Voices Network (PVN), a grassroots group of patients receiving care from safety-net practices, to design and implement programs to improve the delivery of health care using a Patient Ambassador model, a peer support model to empower patients in their own care and address social determinants of health. As Director of the Community Engagement Team at the UB Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) she is committed to building infrastructure to facilitate community engagement and community partnered research. A major part of this work is to develop and communicate culturally relevant and appropriate information to diverse community groups.
